Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Simon Riley, trading as Little Menace Studios ("we", "us"), which runs Crowd. By creating an account or using Crowd, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Crowd.
1. Who can use Crowd
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must not have been removed from Crowd before, and must not be prohibited from using it by law.
- One person, one account. Your profile must be about you and truthful.
2. What Crowd is for
Crowd is for making friends. It is not a dating app. Unwanted romantic or sexual approaches are against the rules.
3. Rules
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, on Crowd or at a plan.
- Make unwanted romantic or sexual approaches.
- Post content that is sexual, violent, hateful or discriminatory, or that promotes self-harm or illegal activity.
- Scam, solicit money, advertise or sell to other members.
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are, including your age.
- Share another person's private information without their permission.
- Use Crowd if you are under 18, or help anyone under 18 use it.
- Interfere with Crowd, access it by automated means, or try to get around its security or other members' blocks.
4. Reports and enforcement
- You can report a member or a message from their profile or the chat, and block anyone at any time.
- Reports are reviewed by people, not decided automatically. We act on reports as quickly as we can, and urgent safety reports first.
- Two things happen straight away, as protection rather than punishment. Reporting someone for a romantic advance blocks them for you. And if three or more different people report an account, we hide it from Discover and search until we have reviewed those reports; this is a precaution, not a finding against anyone.
- If a member breaks these rules we may remove content, issue a warning, suspend the account or remove it permanently. We do not tell reporters the outcome.
- If you think a decision about your account is wrong, email littlemenacestudios@gmail.com and a person will look at it again.
5. Meeting people in person
Crowd helps you meet people you do not know. We do not run background checks, and we do not verify members' identities. You are responsible for your own safety when you meet anyone. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own travel, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. If you are in danger, contact the emergency services first, then report the person to us.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, on or off Crowd.
6. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute it as needed to run Crowd, for as long as it is on Crowd. You are responsible for having the right to post it. We may remove any content that breaks these terms.
7. Crowd+
- Crowd+ is an optional subscription. It currently includes unlimited hosting (free accounts can host 3 plans a month) and a minimum match score filter in Discover. Messaging, joining plans and groups, blocking and reporting are always free.
- Crowd+ is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Deleting your Crowd account does not cancel your subscription.
8. Apple
If you downloaded Crowd from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Crowd or its content.
- Your licence to use the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where it and these terms conflict about the app licence, Apple's agreement applies.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Crowd. Contact us instead.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to Crowd, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. We are, to the extent these terms say so.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other members.
10. Disclaimers
Crowd is provided as it is and as available. We do not promise that it will always be available or error-free, or that you will make friends. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything another member does. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Crowd+ in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Crowd after that, the new terms apply.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in the UK or the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring a claim in your local courts.
